In a state of deep reflection and fasting, God has reminded me of my worth.
Luke 15:4–7 (NIV)
“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?... I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”
He leaves the 99 to come find me—& rejoices when I’m back.
Luke 12:6–7 (NIV)
“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
He knows the exact number of hairs on my head & tells me I am worth more than sparrows.
Romans 5:8 (NIV)
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
He died for me—a sinner.
Isaiah 43:4 (NIV)
“Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.”
He exchanges nations for me.
Isaiah 49:16 (NIV)
“See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”
He engraved me on His own hands—to never forget me.
Psalm 139:13–14 (ESV)
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Like a garment, He knit me together. He took His time and carefully wove in every single detail.
Deuteronomy 7:6 (NIV)
“The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.”
He chose me and made me His treasured possession.
1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
He called me out of darkness into life.
Galatians 4:7 (NIV)
“So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.”
I am His child—and He made me an heir.
God created me. He cared enough to take the time to form every single detail.
And when I strayed, like a sheep from its shepherd, He left everyone else to find me.
And when He found out what I was doing, He didn’t hurt me.
He didn’t punish me.
He saw me.
Through every single mistake. Through every trial and tribulation.
He knew what I was made to be.
He didn’t judge me.
He didn’t hold anything against me.
He thought I was worthy enough to be saved.
The world says I am not worthy.
God says I am worthy. Every. Single. Morning.
Lamentations says:
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”
It doesn’t make sense to believe that God is all-knowing—
and yet still cares for every detail and every move of mine.
I wish I had better answers.
Factual evidence.
But I’m not a scientist, historian, or physicist.
I’m a human.
With a testimony that speaks of how He cares for me—every single day.
How, when I sat across from someone my heart loved so deeply,
and heard them say:
“You are not worth it.”
Immediately, God audibly whispered in my ear:
“YOU ARE WORTH IT TO ME. I chose you every single day.”
And in that moment, I knew—God is so real.
I will die on this hill.
Content.
And so in love with God and all His glory.
